"Five Easy Pieces" is a 1970 American drama directed by Bob Rafelson and stars Jack Nicholson as Bobby Dupea, a former piano prodigy turned surly oil rig worker. When Bobby learns his father is dying, he travels to his family home in Washington with his uncouth girlfriend, confronting his privileged past. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards, and in 2000, it was added to the United States National Film Registry for its cultural, historical, and aesthetic significance.
