Raiders of the Lost Ark is a 1981 American action-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on a story by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman. Starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, the film follows the archaeologist as he competes with Nazi forces to recover the Ark of the Covenant, believed to make an army invincible.
