Abumi Stirrups with Tombo Dragonfly's Japanese antique abumi (stirrups for horse riding) for a very wealthy Samurai. Featuring bronze and silver inlaid patters of dragonflies with a filigree on the underside. There are some losses to the inlay. Iron inlay of bronze and silver.
Edo period (1603-1868)Abumi stirrups (for horse riding) featuring bronze & silver Tombo Dragonfly etchings with filigree on the underside made for a wealthy Samurai. There are some loses due to the usage and aging of the underside. Made of iron with inlay of bronze and silver. These stirrups date back to the Edo period (1603-1868). Each measures 11.5” length x 5.25” width x 10.5” height and both weigh 7 lbs. as a pair. One pair available.
